Suite Festival Madrid 2010

Suite Festival is a young festival, devoted to emerging artists who want to show off their talent and generate a wider audience. The third edition of this festival, which takes place in between the Madrid clubs Penelope and the Boite from the 15th to the 17th of April has many new features. While music continues to be the most important element, this year’s festival also presents other forms of artistic expression such as film, photography and illustration. From the 12th to the 14th of April there will be projections of documentaries Costello Club and artist’s exhibitions will appear in various places throughout the city.

The principal objective of Suite Festival, created and organized by Thismonkey Management , is to promote the most promising young talent, and give them an opportunity to reach out to a wider audience, although they might not have the economic resources to do so. Everyday, an emerging group will share the bill with an internationally recognized group. In this edition of Suite Festival, four British groups will play along with two German groups, among the most awaited are White Movement Rose and the Cinematic. The same day also features concerts by Spanish groups Nueva Vulcano and Winslow Leach.

German group “Stereo Total” will entertain fans with its original music fusion of rock and electronic sounds and lyrics in English, French, German, Japanese Spanish and Turkish. Standout Spanish group the Blow Up will play a mix of covers and original songs influences by R&B and soul the 16th in the Boite. For the hardest partiers the icing on the cake will be the Post Suite Festival. After concerts by Stereo Total, the Good Shoes and Lentejas on Friday, the party continues in club The Moon thanks to Madrid dj Luiminili.

Keeping in mind the truly economic price tag (between 15 and 20 Euros for one night, or 40 Euros for a three day pass), it’s a one and only chance for passionate music fans to get to know some of the best groups on the European indie scene and hear some future stars. And of course, we don’t have to point out that Madrid has lots more to offer: museums, art galleries, shops and excellent restaurants.
