Primavera Sound Festival 2009 Barcelona

What does springtime sound like? The season of flowers brings warmth, good vibes and great music. The Primavera Sound is one of the main appointments in the musical festivals calendar of Barcelona, Spain and Europe. In a constant search to achieve the best concerts, this festival attracts thousands of music lovers to the city.

This new edition will be held from 28th to 30th May in the Parc Del Forum. This unique and privileged setting is the perfect location that combines music, sun and sea. What else can you say? One more thing: are you are waiting for a great line-up? Don’t worry! Once again, the Primavera Sound Festival will not disappoint its public.
Among the highlighted artists of this year are Ezra Furman & the Harpoons, offering rock tinged with folk and punk and who have had a lot of success with their second album. A couple of Catalan incorporations are El Gremio and the DJ of the famous musical blog 20JazzFunkGreats. Another important name is that of the British band The Horrors, who will surely provide a lot to talk about owing to the change of their sound that you’ll find on their second album. It also highlights the participation of The Faith Healers, who return to the festival also joined by the New Zealanders, The Bats. On the other hand, Makovski Maika will present their latest work. Tokyo Sex Destruction accompanied by Gregg Foreman, ex-leader of The Delta 72 and component of the live band Cat Power, will delight the public.
As is customary, a few days before the festival a few smaller concerts will be held in the Sidecar and Apolo concert halls. Among the invited artists there will be participation from Reigning Sound, Zu, Half Foot Outside, The Intelligence and Dälek.
There will also be some concerts taking place at L’Auditori: My Bloody Valentine, Michael Nyman, Joe Henry, The Bad Plus, Damien Jurado, The New Year, Alela Diane and Extra Life. Every musical style imaginable!
For another year will be held what has become a tradition of the Primavera Sound: the concerts in the Barcelona metro station called “Primavera Sound goes into the Metro Station”. They will be held on May 23rd and will involve: Mujeres Centella, QA´A y Gúdar.
The tickets are already on sale. They cost € 155 for the complete pass and € 70 for the day pass.
