Hans Haacke in Madrid
Feb 13th, 2012 by apartmentblogger
The Reina Sofia Museum is the ideal space to visit in February and see the Hans Haacke exhibition, the great American artist who travels the world with his art exposing his ideas.

Hans Haacke is an artist and teacher known throughout the world, he lives in New York, but is German. Born in Cologne he studied in Germany until he won a scholarship that took him across the seas, to the United States of America. There he reinforced his art studies and soon began to create his own works.
He established himself as an artist in the 60′s by presenting new concepts and innovations. Mixed systems such as living plants and animals with physical systems, creating a different look at the art world. That’s why he became famous in the world and soon his work began to be quoted and circulated around the globe.
Some of the museums that Haacke has exposed are the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. But this time he is coming to Madrid in Spain to share a moment with his colleague and friend Walter Grasskamp.
Grasskamp is German, critic, lecturer and art historian. He currently works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. During his life he has published several books, some dedicated to the life and work of Hans Haacke, as “Hans Haacke: For Real” published in 2007. That’s why this meeting is wonderful and worth listening to and visiting.
While Hans will be exhibiting at the Reina Sofia from the 14th of February until July 23, 2012, on the 15th of February at 19.30 at the Nouvel Building (Auditorium 400) these two German characters of international art will give a speech, admission is free.
