Jun 10th, 2010 by apartmentblogger
“Violence. Discrimination. Enough is enough!
Freedom and equality, everywhere and always ”
On Saturday June 26, listen to this defiant and hopeful motto as supporters of the movement for sexual equality and tolerance march in Paris

After the June 21 summer music festivals, the streets of Paris will come alive once again. The streets will be the scene of a chorus of urban voices, whose messages promise to be colorful. The march will set forth from the Boulveard of Montpernasse and the meeting time is set at 13.30. Marchers and floats will parade along the boulevards Montparnasse, Saint-Michel, Saint-Germain, the Pont de Sully and the Boulevard Henri IV. to get to the Bastille Plaça where a free concert will be held from 16h to 21h.
Since the first official march was organized in 1981, the groups and associations involved have multiplied, and have become more and more involved in favor of human rights and the fight against AIDS. Today, 14 French cities will be hosting the rainbow flags on different dates, and each city has its own motto for the march. In the capital, it is thanks to the initiative of the Inter-LGBT group that the Paris edition has attracted so much participation and interest since 2002.
This year, there will be no barriers between the parade and the public, so anyone is welcome to join! You’ll see, it´s not about sharing the same sexual orientation, just supporting equal rights for everyone that is really important. We urge you to join up in the celebration, the public is as open and relaxed, and you will be dazzled to see so much love and respect in the street! The most solemn moment will be the three minutes of silence at 16:30 Bastille, three moments of silence which serve as symbol of mobilization against HIV virus and support to those victims of the epidemic over 130,000 in France according to Inter-LGBT.
Enjoy this summer event for a few days in the city of love, renting apartments in Paris, you´ll see life in pink, really …
