One hot dish: When playing with your food opens up more than your palate

In one of the most famous scenes of the hot film “Nine and a half weeks,” Mickey Rourke blindfolds Kim Basinger with a with a black silk handkerchief and playfully begins to feed her foods with different textures and flavours: strawberry (Kim playfully bites), gelatine, cream, yoghurt, chocolate and a surprisingly sour pickle … These games have surely been repeated in hundreds of bedrooms across the world, enjoyed by all those who have chosen to ignore the typically repeated nag made by parents “Don’t play with your food!”.

At the end of the day, good food is a joy and a delight to the senses (and not just for the taste buds), which places it in an orbit similar to erotic pleasure.
