Dysfashional Fashion Show Berlin

From the 7th until the 11th of June, Berlin will host its Fashion Week again. And for that reason there will be tons of events under the topic “fashion”. Fairs, Parties, Award ceremonies and art will be on the agenda.
The “Haus der Kulturen der Welt” opened the exhibition Dysfashional on the 24th of June. A variety of artists and designers are showing how to play and experiment with the concepts and materiality of fashion. You won’t merely see fashion, you will also see the intersection of art and fashion.. Enjoy installations that intuitively mix fashion and art and tests barriers.

International artists and fashion designers such as Raf Simons, Maison Martin Margiela, Hussein Chalayan, Justin Morin and Billie Mertens, Hiroaki Ohya, Jerszy Seymour, Michael Sontag, Item Idem and Marc Turlan will present their work.

The exhibition is accompanied by the project “Parasite”. It is a platform where new artists and designers have the opportunity to present their work.

Futhermore artist Katharina Klewinghaus will present one of her latest projects, a video and space installation of Bodies in Motion, a workshop that took place in Paris during January 2010 where 16 fashion design students from the ESMOD International Fashion School Berlin and the Institut Français de la Mode, Paris – IFM participated. Through art, fashion design, choreography, video and photography this projects depicts a connection between the body and motion-
