Aug 20th, 2010 by apartmentblogger
While its not the first time the English band VNV Nation has performed in Barcelona, the concert scheduled for September 3 promises to be filled with the sultry sounds of industrial and shouldn’t be missed!.

The group started of in 1990, with the release of their first two singles, Body Pulse and Strength of Youth. These first two items were strongly marked by the EBM and industrial sound characterized the band, with albums such as “Advance and Follow” from 1995 and then the wonderful “Praise the Fallen 98. The dark, aggressive sound of the first two discs of the then duo earned them an important place in the dark electronic scene.
In 1999 the band released the album “Empires” and after this, in 2002, “Futureperfect” with which they gain a huge following, largely because their sound radically changed and attracted a new audience. Known for its dark and aggressive sound, the band became known for mixing synth pop, industrial and ebm in a new musical style called Futurepop. This move away from hard and dark sound that characterized previous albums made many of followers turn away from the band but simultaneously encouraged many others to start listening.
Their worldwide popularity grew with their latest albums. The 2009 work entitled “Of Faith, Power and Glory” is an excellent example of the band’s evolution and featured dance songs such as “Tomorrow Never Come” or the now-classic melancholy and atmospheric songs like “From my hands.”
The concert will not disappoint anyone looking to here material from both their old and new albums. Faderhead, a German band that shakes the dance floor, is set to open, and the event is scheduled for September 3rd at 20:00 hrs at Bikini. Tickets cost 22 € in advance and 25 € on the same day.
