Once again one of the most famous fairs of the Catalan capital Barcelona, the Manga Fair, is celebrating its fifteenth edition. This year it pays tribute to the recently deceased Yoshito Usui, one of the parents of Manga and the creator of the mischievous, but lovable character of  “Shin Chan”.

But there are many undiscovered works of this master in our country. Thanks to this tribute  comic lovers may get to know his less known work among other things. In addition, the event organization, along with Planeta DeAgostini and Luk Internacional, will offer a presentation on Shin Chan with graphic material and other products.

The fair will take place from October 29th to November 1st in La Farga de L’Hospitalet (C/Barcelona, 2), where there will be macrospaces for video games, all kinds of stands, assembly halls, traditional Japanese games workshops, manga workshops and exhibitions, mangateka, Japanese workshops, press room, restaurant areas and a centre for guest authors to sign autographs.

Enthusiasts of the Manga world will have three spaces to enjoy the best of the genre. Also, there will be a free service of “Mangabus”, which will shuttle them while the fair is open.

Besides La Farga, where the principal activities will take place, the other two enclosures are the Poliesportiu of Centre (C/Riera de l’Escorxador, 15), where the Cosplay contests, the Karaoke, the musical performances and the demonstrations of Japanese culture will take place; and Centre Cultural Barradas (C/Ravine Just Oliveras, 56), where anime projections will be held.

This year prizes will be awarded to the best anime and manga works published in Spain between September 2008 and August 2009. Although they have no monetary award, they confer a great prestige to the winning works.

The tickets will cost € 6 and 4 € with the official discount (only with TR3SC card and Carnet Jove card). But those visitors who come to the fair dressed up as a manga or anime character on 30th october (Friday) will be able to enjoy free access. Furthermore, and if this were not enough, all the attendees will have a manga gift.
