How to be an artist and not die trying

AinizeTxopitea’s work, based primarily on digital collage and mixed media, questions language and image and combines her personal female-centric creative universe with an atmosphere of emotional, conceptual, reflections of her thoughts and experiences.

At first glance her paintings reflect a series of sensations of psychic content and an accumulation of references to sex, violence, passion, chaos, information policy, urban noise … shadows have settled in our culture and counterculture, as a condition of the times in which we live.
Her creations feature an almost disturbing aesthetic complexity, and many are overwhelmed by the formal maturity she has reached in just a decade. The breakdown of her inner world and her chosen subjects have led to her winning the reputation of artist-to-watch on the current art scene.
Her work has been featured in exhibitions in galleries and museums in Germany, England, Spain, Argentina, and America. After a prolific stint in London, she has worked in various facets as graphic and web designer for international clients in the art world like Kylie Minogue’s choreographer Rafael Bonachela, the dance company Project Probe, author and television talk show host Ameztoy Begoña, tenor Colin Lee or the photographer Carmela García, among others.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: she is the daughter of Daniel Txopitea, one of the best painters that emerged in the Basque country during the seventies.
Her visual and poetic expressions have also been part of congresses, conferences and workshops on experimental literature. Phrases like, ‘ it’s not necessary to, “Let the current lead us to an ocean of possibilities” “Let’s break down the wall between you and me without breaking me as well” or “The city is not just a reflection in the clouds of lonely buildings but also the geometric equation of risk + beauty ”
Committed to dismantling the death of the spirit and art that must fit into a single discipline, she continues to take on new projects with gusto. Currently she is hard at work producing her next exhibition in her apartment in Barcelona.
It is clear that her career is a clear example of how to be an artist and not die trying. All that’s left to do is talk about it. Rent apartments in Barcelona to see some of her work and don’t forget to check out her website www.ainizetxopitea.com
